Please note that the club does not operate casual booking services. But we are happy to show you around our club & meet members prior to joining. OVERVIEW Squash is one section of our club. Te Papapa Onehunga, Rugby, Football & Sports Inc also offers Rugby, Netball and Gym. Please see www.tepapapasportsclub.nz for more info on these offers. HISTORY Te Papapa Squash became an addition to the Club in 1974 with the construction of three squash courts. While it began as a way for rugby players to get some off-season training, it was not too long before the squash section of the Club began to hold it's own and soon boasted members in the hundreds. In recent years the club has been rejuvenated, we now have a thriving Gym, Rugby numbers are up and Squash membership is growing. Currently squash membership is approximately 80 members. But of this we produce 5 Interclub teams of all levels and compete strongly having won many Interclub Penants in the recent years. The club is now in constant improvement - we have recently resurfaced Court 2, with Courts 1 & 3 aim to follow in 2024. We have also upgraded to LED court lighting as well as planned upgrading bathroom and changing facilities. Our well priced membership fees of Junior Graded: $160, Senior Casual: $250 and Senior Graded: $300 per annum. While Te Papapa is an affordable choice of club, perfect for members of all abilities. It is still very competitive and we have players from Beginners to top B grade, so come down and check us out. SQUASH MEMBERSHIP
All members have access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using a keytag entry system that also operates the Court lights. We have three courts and are planning on installing an online booking system this year, but until then we have a first in first served policy. However if the courts are full and people are waiting, we ask that you complete your game within the 45 minute slot, and allow the next players to get on Court. Currently this system works well and creates a very social 'everyone knows everyone' club. We offer three kinds of memberships:

We continue to provide the most affordable rates in the Auckland region. In 2018 we resurfaced Court 2 and in 2024 we aim to resurface Courts 1 and 3. OPPORTUNITIES TO PLAY We are a friendly and social club, so if you want to head to one of the below nights to check it out. Please feel free, but do introduce yourself to the players - that way someone can help answer your questions or direct you to someone who can help. INTERCLUB MONDAY/TUESDAYS Graded players can become members of a team which then hosts and goes to the other clubs in the Auckland district. This happens on Monday or Tuesday nights from 7pm, when we host we cater for our visitors and when we travel the host club looks after us. If you are interested in playing Interclub this year, please let us know via email tepapapasquash@gmail.com it kicks off 11th March so let us know well before then if you want to play. FRIDAY FAMILY NIGHT A great new initiative for 2023. Friday nights will now be family nights where you can bring your wife, partner and kids down to the club, for a fun night out for the whole family. We will have coaching available for partners and kids - beginners are welcomed. A great way to get the whole family involved with squash. You are more than welcome to also come by yourself to learn the game. For intermediate players and above we will have fun matches available too. THE TE PAPAPA HEAD B GRADE OPEN COMPETITION Last year we hosted our first tournament in many years, it was a resounding success. 2019 will be bigger and better yet! Numbers are limited so please book in early. This year it will be held late August. Local players may be asked to play Wednesday. Non-local players can start Friday. You can register at Squash NZ, and play if you are a member of any club in NZ. Brought to you by HEAD squash gear, this competition allows all players men, women and juniors to compete. There will be prizes for the winners and spot prizes provided by HEAD. Food from the cafeteria and cold drinks from the bar. OPEN DAY 2023 - TBC From 10am to 6pm we will be hosting a club open day, there will be demo's, spot prizes for participants, a bbq, and a chance for you to check out what we have to offer! CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP We are offering this year an annual corporate membership for people wanting to play Monday-Friday between 9am & 5pm. You or company can pay $700, which will allow as many as four players to play during the work days. This allows a range of people to play on one or two courts, rather than tie the membership to a particular individual. If you are interested in this kind of membership for more or less people, get in touch and we can tailor a membership to suit your needs. Our membership period runs from March to March, if you start your membership part way through this period the cost will be adjusted to reflect this.
